Lea’s recently released Augustine linen, part of her 2024 "Endpapers Collection" is inspired by the endpapers found within an 18th century copy of the "Confessions of Saint Augustine", an autobiographical work by Augustine of Hippo, consisting of 13 books written in Latin between AD 397 and 400.

For this print, Lea simplified the original pattern to emphasize small, hand-blocked, rounded crosses, keeping some imperfection in the shapes as shown on the original page. Our Belgian ground linen (7.5oz) is made of natural fibers with no dyes added, so there will always be slight shade variations depending on the time the crop was grown.
