Inspired by the stately homes of New England that bring both British roots and an American flair to the historic country houses of Boston’s North Shore, Lea’s architectural drawings are a whimsical mix of shape and color, from Georgian symmetry and formal gardens to farm houses and wild fields.

Animals

Lea’s animal paintings capture the personalities, mischievous and wise, of the many animals she knew as a girl on her family’s 1699 farm. From cattle, sheep, and wildfowl to the lobsters caught just minutes away off the coast of her native Cape Ann, these companions of the earth, sea, and sky are an integral part of that great balance of life in the New England countryside.
